though i haven’t read the “law of attraction”, michael buselli is correct, if what you’re describing is the same as the essence of the “l.o.a.” then it is most likely the same phenomenon. mohammed could have started a new monotheistic religion but knew abraham had done it two thousand years before so, islam is an abrahamic religion (an analogy more familiar than the noodle deity). but why read a whole book when you, walt kania, have so succinctly given the concept and the how-to in a one page read. don’t know why it happens, call it what you will but it’s real. thanks.

First, I have to say that I love Michael Buselli’s response — I thought the same thing (minus the Flying Spaghetti Monster) when I read it.

Second, it does really work. I’ve been doing a lot of networking today, promoting my upcoming art show and not really trying to do more other than shout out that I’m still here. So what do I get back? A generic shout back from a gallery looking for artists, which I think I’ll have to reply to in a week. Here I was moseying around and a “mosey” came back to me. Intent really does matter.

Despite your aversion to the label “law of attraction” you’ve just described the same thing. Even down to the part where it doesn’t work if you’re just gaming the system. You don’t get to describe your belief in a levitating creature made of noodles, but then ask people not to call it a Flying Spaghetti Monster.

I don’t have a possible solution, but I have to second your statement. My best guess is a typical cycle of business. Since we don’t have full time sales people making calls for us, pursuing new work. If traditional business didn’t have a sales force, they would no doubt have a similar experience.

Brilliant article! I reckon motivation is a great fuel to get things started, and when you gain momentum you can become unstoppable at any activity.

Thing is, when you put your mind and strength on single effort, and focus on a single goal, something good must come out it no matter what.

Anyways, I still can’t come up with a proper explanation… the whole deal sounds very much like Zen doesn’t it?
